Foundation Years (1999-2004)

The Institute of Directors Kenya was established in 1999 by a group of visionary business leaders who recognized the need for promoting professional directorship in Kenya's growing corporate sector. Initially registered as a company limited by guarantee, IoD Kenya began with a small but dedicated membership of 50 directors from various sectors of the economy.

Growth and Development (2005-2014)

During this period, IoD Kenya experienced significant growth in both membership and influence:

  • Launched the first Director Development Program in 2005
  • Established partnerships with international governance institutions
