Prof. Charles Mayaka, the CEO of the Institute of Directors Kenya served previously as the Programs Director at the Institute of Directors Kenya.
He has worked previously as Chief Executive Officer for Trinity Group and Director of Strategy in the same company. He has vast teaching and training experience having taught and trained in a number of Universities in Kenya and abroad including Kenyatta University, United States International University (USIU), Alliant International University, National University (adjunct faculty), Daystar University (adjunct faculty) and Kabarak University (adjunct faculty) among other.
He served as the HoD, department of Business Administration at Kenyatta University and Coordinator of management and marketing programs at USIU. Prof Mayaka brings vast experience in leadership and in director development having been the lead trainer in executive development programs and the Director, Centre for Executive and Entrepreneurial Development (CEED) at USIU.
Prof. Mayaka is an avid reader and writer of business case studies. He has worked with multi-cultural teams in various countries including Kenya, USA, China, South Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania in various capacities. Prof. Mayaka is passionate about developing ethical leaders, mentoring and coaching young leaders and strives to see growth in inter Africa Trade by empowering the people of Africa to spur their own growth and development.
