Jane Mbatia serves as a distinguished Board Member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya), where she leverages her extensive expertise in corporate governance and leadership to advance the organization’s mission of promoting best practices in directorship.

As the Managing Partner of KM&M Advocates LLP, Jane brings a wealth of senior-level international experience in corporate and commercial law, serving both public and private sectors. Her leadership roles include Vice Chairperson of the Board at AMREF Flying Doctors (2019 to present), where she provides strategic oversight, having served as a Board Member since 2017. Since March 2023, Jane has been a Board Member of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, contributing to governance in the healthcare sector. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Legal & Regulatory Committee of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI), demonstrating her commitment to ethical leadership and regulatory compliance.

With a robust background as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary, Jane has a proven track record in corporate leadership, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Her extensive experience in public sector advisory work complements her ability to navigate complex legal and governance landscapes. Jane holds an LLM from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, UK, and an LLB from the University of Nairobi. She also earned a Diploma in Law & Practice from the Kenya School of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Additionally, she holds a Leadership Certificate from Oxford University, further enhancing her expertise in governance and leadership.
