Kyalo Mbobu is a distinguished legal practitioner and governance expert with over 29 years of experience as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. As a Board Member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) Kenya, he brings extensive expertise in law, governance, arbitration, and mediation to advance the institute’s mission of promoting director professionalism and organizational excellence.
As the Senior Partner at Kyalo & Associates Advocates, a Nairobi-based law firm, Kyalo leads a team providing high-quality legal services in commercial litigation, arbitration, and corporate governance. He serves as Chairman of the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal, where he oversees the resolution of disputes within Kenya’s political landscape, ensuring fairness and adherence to legal standards. Additionally, as a Trustee of Corat Africa, he contributes to governance and strategic oversight for the organization’s mission in capacity building across Africa. Kyalo also holds chairmanship roles at Quest Holdings Ltd and Core Capital Group Ltd, where he drives strategic leadership and fosters sustainable growth in the private sector.
An accomplished academic, Kyalo is a lecturer at the University of Nairobi (UON) School of Law and the Kenya School of Law (KSL), where he imparts knowledge in legal practice, governance, and alternative dispute resolution. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with Honours and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Georgetown University, complemented by his status as a Certified Public Secretary of Kenya (CPS-K) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb, London, Kenya Branch).
